The Bell Center offers a unique volunteering experience for individuals 16 years and older. Volunteering can include working one-on-one with a child, preparing materials for therapy or supporting a toddler class with planned activities. Our Summer Program runs for seven weeks beginning on June 12 and ending August 2. Volunteering can be as simple as 2 hours per work or a full day, two days per week.
To get started, please complete the Summer Volunteer Application by May 15, 2012 and email it to our Program Director, Andi Gillen. Volunteering positions will be filled on a first come-first served basis. There will be a required orientation meeting/training class on Tuesday, June 12th at 10:30 a.m.
Want to know more about The Bell Center? If you’ll give us one hour of your time, we’ll not only give you lunch but also the opportunity to learn more about what we do for infants and toddlers who are at risk for developmental delay. Each month, we invite a number of guests to join us for an informative hour starting at noon at our Brown Baggin’ It at The Bell luncheon. After lunch and a brief presentation, you’re ready to leave The Bell Center with a new understanding of our mission to provide children three years old and younger with the very best in early intervention services. Finish your visit with a quick tour through The Bell Center, and you’re likely to make new friends with the precious infants and toddlers we serve.
Brown Baggin’ It at The Bell is the second Thursday of the month from noon to 1 p.m. Our next luncheon will be Thursday, September 8. If you’re interested in joining us for our next Brown Baggin’ It luncheon, simply call (205) 879-3417 or send an email to jcolquett@thebellcenter.org. We look forward to seeing you here!
